New Requirements for Landlords
By the 1st of July 2019 all remaining residential rental properties covered by the RTA must meet the new insulation requirements.
What needs to be done:
• Make a Statement
• Check and Confirm
• Replace and Repair
• is incomplete
Landlords must make a statement in the tenancy agreement on the extent of and details about the insulation installed in their residential property.
Check and confirm what insulation is installed in the residential property.
If the existing installation is below standard or:
landlords will need to replace and repair the existing with new insulation in the ceiling and underfloor to meet the current Building code requirements.
